Abstract

This paper provides an overview of five cases of civil society involvement in peacebuilding
from Southeast Asia, as a reference for similar civil society efforts in Myanmar and as a basis
for external actors that might wish to provide assistance. The paper was produced as background for the CSDN meeting entitled ‘Supporting Myanmar’s Evolving Peace Processes: What Roles for Civil Society and the EU?’ which took place in Brussels on 7 March 2013.
